Bienvenue aux Jardins Glenelm 

Nous cultivons plus de quarante variétés de légumes frais et certifiés bio, sur 3 acres d’argile riche dans la pointe sud-ouest du Québec. Membres du Réseau des Fermiers de Famille depuis 2015, nous pratiquons une agriculture qui vise à maximiser les bienfaits pour la santé et la saveur des légumes, tout en nourrissant le sol et la biodiversité qui la compose.

Notre système semi-mécanisé fait le pont entre l’efficacité du travail et la santé des sols, sans équipements lourds, avec de longues rotations en alternant légumes et prairies. Pour nous, c’est la meilleure façon de nourrir les gens sans nuire au sol qui nous nourrit.

Nos légumes sont disponibles en s’abonnant à nos paniers bio (La solution pour profiter des meilleurs légumes de saison), ou nous visiter au Marché Fermier du comté de Huntingdon tous les mercredis de 15h-18h dès la fin mai, ou à Valleyfield à la Place Ste-Cécile, tous les jeudis de 15h à 18h, dès le 23 juin. Au plaisir de devenir vos “fermiers de famille”.

Welcome to Les Jardins Glenelm, a certified organic micro-farm in Elgin. We’re proud to feed more than 120 families families on three acres for 8 years running.

We believe that small is beautiful – our farm is tiny by modern standards, three acres on which we produce an enormous amount of food. We blend traditional methods with modern technology without ever using synthetic inputs…

We carefully select varieties that are well adapted to our climate and rich clay soil, while producing vegetables with a more concentrated flavour with higher brix and nutrient values :  Mini-sweet peppers, desert quality melons, baby mesclun greens, baby eggplants, lebanese cucumbers and heirloom tomatoes that simply blow grocery-store tomatoes away for colour and flavour.

Were focus on quality and taste first. We give our vegetables the attention they need in order to become those perfect purple, orange, red or striped tomatoes with that insanely tasty, sweet/tart balance and complexity that makes you want to bite in to them like an apple.

We use absolutely no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides and are proud to be certified with Ecocert Canada. Our main growing tools at the farm include LOTS of compost and netting to protect our crops from insect damage. In our first year we planted 23 vegetable varieties – we now grow close to 40, plus the sub-varieties, as well as wine cap mushrooms and edible flower bouquets.

We mainly sell our awesome veggies via the Fermier de famille weekly basket program, which, if you want a healthier food system, is the best way to support for local farmers doing everything they can to make it happen.

Delivery locations are the lovely farmers’ market in Huntingdon on Wednesdays and Place Ste-Cécile in Valleyfield, next to the Town Hall.

We also sell to local restaurants in the Huntingdon area.
